Controllers of Personal Information:

Personal information provided to or gathered by SecurityMAX is controlled by SecurityMAX.

Collection and Use of Personal Information About Customers:

The information we gain from customers helps us personalise and improve the service we offer to you. We use the information to handle orders, deliver products and services, process payments, communicate with you about orders, products, services and promotional offers, update our records and maintain your accounts with us, display content like customer reviews and recommend merchandise and services that might be of interest to you. We also use this information to improve our site technology, prevent or detect fraud or abuses of our site and enable third parties to carry out technical or other functions for us.

The types of information we gather include:

  • Information you give us: we receive and store the information you enter on our site or give us at any other time. You may choose not to provide certain information but then you may not be able to take advantage of certain features of our site.
  • Automatic information: we receive and store certain types of information when you interact with us. Like many sites, we use "cookies" and obtain certain types of information when your browser accesses SecurityMAX. There are tools available which enable you to visit sites anonymously and, although we'll be unable to provide you with a personalised experience if we cannot recognise you, we want you to be aware that these do exist.
  • Information from other sources: we may, from time to time, receive information about you from other sources and add this to our account information.

Customer Communication Preferences:

  • Different types of communication: By registering your details you consent to SecurityMAX sending you information via post, telephone or e-mail on special offers, new product launches, product reviews, and any other information we believe may be relevant to you. We may also contact you via these methods for market research and customer care purposes.
  • Removing yourself from our communications: If you do not want to receive communications from us please email us at dataprotection@securitymax.com clearly stating which communication channels you do NOT want to receive information by and, if any, which channels you DO want to receive information by.

Does SecurityMAX Share the Information It Receives?

Information about our customers is an important part of our business and we do not sell it to others. We share customer information as described below.

  • Agents: we employ other companies to perform functions including fulfilling orders, delivering packages, sending postal mail, e-mail, removing repetitive information from customer lists, analysing data, providing marketing assistance, processing credit card payments and providing customer service on our behalf. These companies have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes. Furthermore, they must process the personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and under international laws.
  • Business transfers: as we develop our business, we might sell or buy subsidiaries or business units. In such transactions, customer information is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy. In the event that SecurityMAX or its sister companies are acquired, customer information will of course form one of the transferred assets.
  • Protection of SecurityMAX and others: we release account and other personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with law, to enforce or to protect the rights, property or safety of SecurityMAX, our customers, suppliers or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction. This does not include selling, renting, sharing or otherwise disclosing personally identifiable information from customers for commercial purposes in any way that is contrary to the undertakings made in this Privacy Policy.
  • With your consent: in all circumstances other than as set out above, you will receive notice when information about you might go to third parties and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.

How Secure Is Information About Me?

  • We protect the security of your information during transmission by encrypting all credit card numbers at the time that the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our server. They are not held in clear text on any website.
  • We maintain safeguards in connection with the collection, storage and disclosure of personally identifiable customer information. These safeguards mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we disclose personal information to you.

What Choices Do I Have?

  • As outlined above, you may choose not to provide information, even though it might be needed to make a purchase or to take advantage of certain SecurityMAX features.
  • If you do not want to receive e-mail or other mail from us, please adjust your Customer Communication Preferences as detailed above.
  • The Help menu on the menu bar of your browsers tells you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie and how to disable cookies altogether.

Conditions of Use, Notices and Revisions

If you choose to use the SecurityMAX site, your visit and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Privacy Policy. This includes limitations on damages and application of international laws. If you have any concern about privacy at SecurityMAX, send a thorough description dataprotection@securitymax.com and we will try to resolve it. Our business changes constantly and our Privacy Policy is subject to review. We may e-mail periodic reminders of our notices and conditions, unless you have instructed us not to, but you should check our site frequently to see any changes. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Policy applies to all information that we hold or will hold about you and your account. We respect the promises we make, and will not materially change our policies and practices to make them less protective of previously collected customer information without the consent of customers so affected.
